Overview of Drum Ore Washing Machine
Drum trommel is a highly efficient, heavy-duty mine washing equipment, mainly used to process ores containing large amounts of clay, clayey silt or soft oxides. Its core working principle is a combination of mechanical scrubbing and high-pressure water flushing.
It passes through a long slowly rotating cylinder, so that the material is fully mixed, tumbled and rubbed with water inside the cylinder. The cylinder is usually equipped with a scraper or lifting plate, while the pebbles and rocks contained in the material itself are used as a medium to effectively break down the clay clumps, crush the soft oxides and clean the mineral surfaces in the violent churning, so as to dissociate the valuable minerals from the viscous impurities.
The washed slurry overflows from the end of the cylinder and enters into the matching conical screen for preliminary screening, and after removing the oversized particles, the qualified slurry can be sent to the downstream beneficiation equipment (e.g. centrifugal concentrator, spiral chute, jigger, etc.) for further sorting.
